No charges have been filed in connection a traffic accident that occurred early Monday morning, claiming the life of a 32-year-old Villages resident.
The accident occurred at 2:39 a.m. Monday on Interstate 4 at State Road 574 in Hillsborough County.
Brian Robert Costello, 32, was a passenger in a 2013 Kia driven by Chad Arthur Prilliman, 40, of Wildwood.
Prilliman was traveling westbound on SR-574 in the outside lane when he failed to stop for a red traffic signal at the intersection of I-4 and SR-574, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
As a result, his vehicle entered the intersection and traveled into the path of a 2006 Nissan SUV driven by Ashley Lyann Barrett, 30 of Tampa.
Costello suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident.
The investigation into the accident continues, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol.
It could take up to several months for charges to be filed, if they are warranted, Gaskins added.
