Jim Creighton of the Village of St. James, who will undergo a stem cell transplant next month, had a hole-in-one Tuesday on the Roosevelt Executive Golf Course.
Creighton, who retired from the Illinois State Police is battling Multiple Myeloma.
He got the hole-in-one on Hole 3. He was using clubs given to him for Christmas by his wife, Jan.
“What a blessing that was and it occurring on 1-14-14 I think is another positive
sign the stem cell transplant is going to be a complete success,” Jan said.
