Members of The Villages SCUBA Club donned their scuba equipment at 7 a.m. Tuesday and submerged into a pond behind the putting green at Bonifay golf course to recover a hexacopter that went down about two weeks ago.

Jesse Hadaway sent an e-mail to the Scuba Club asking for their assistance in the recovery of his six-armed flying vehicle.

Bill Canna, club president, responded that he would ask for volunteers to help with the effort.

There were six divers who came forward and other supporters from the club that gathered at the pond along with Jesse in order to pinpoint the location where the hexacopter went down.

After about 40 minutes in 55-degree water, Don Nelson retrieved the hexacopter and brought it back to shore.

All were relieved that the recovery efforts were successful.
