A Webster man had to be cut out of his car following an accident at 3:02 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 75 in Marion County.
Guyton Register, 61, of Webster, was traveling southbound in the inside lane on I-75 at the 370 mile marker when a tie rod broke causing the right front tire to come off his 1999 Saturn. His vehicle was forced into the center lane and overturned. The tire struck a truck driven by 41-year-old Chester Witherspoon of Lauderhill, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Register was unable to get out of his vehicle and Marion County Fire Rescue had to cut his door off to free him, according to the FHP report.
He was transported by MCFR to Ocala Regional Medical Center for further medical examination although his injuries appeared to be minor.
