A 42-year-old woman was arrested at the Cove Apartments in Lady Lake in the early morning hours Sunday.
Veronica Ann Weekly is charged with domestic battery and resisting an officer without violence following an incident in which she allegedly bit and struck her boyfriend in the apartment complex.
After she was arrested and placed in a holding cell, she laid on her back and began kicking the cell door, according to a Lady Lake police report. She attempted to spit on officers, according to the report.
During transport to the Lake County Jail, the Lady Lake officer making the transport had to stop twice and have assistance from the Leesburg Police Department. Weekly tried to wrap her head in the seatbelt, the report indicated.
Once at the jail, jail staff had to respond with a special extrication unit to get her out of the police vehicle.
She posted $1,500 bond and has been released. She has a court date of March 19.
