Marion County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in Belleview Thursday night.

Firefighters saved nearby land and structures when Marion County Fire Rescue responded Thursday night to a vacant 5,000 sq. ft. home at 4060 SE 120th St., in Belleview, which was fully engulfed upon their arrival.
The emergency call came in from a nearby resident at 8:35 p.m. reporting smoke and a red-glow.  MCFR Belleview Engine 18 arrived first on scene at 8:43 p.m. and, after immediately entering the home to search for victims, found no one inside. A total of 11 units responded to the scene, but a narrow, unmaintained driveway prevented access for some emergency vehicles and required some firefighters to race up to the blaze on foot.
The fire was called under control 9:51 after more than hour of intense firefighting. It took six hours firefighting and approximately 43,000 gallons of water to put the fire completely out and clear the scene.
There were no injuries. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
