To the Editor:

I read in your newspaper about recycling and was hoping I can pursue another avenue in helping to resolve an issue I have been trying to address for some time now. I hope that if you cannot help with this inquiry, you can direct me to someone who can.
When I first came to The Villages, I used the Lady Lake recycling site on Rolling Acres Road, past the American Legion for all such items as expired batteries, CFL bulbs, used oil, paints, etc and other potential toxic materials. However, this site is now limited to Lady Lake residents only. I tried to contact Sumter County officials and Villages waste management officials, but no one had anything to offer for dropping of such material for recycling convenient to Village residents. Sumter County has a drop off site way down in Bushnell and has limited availability.
Is there any way you can help in getting a local recycling center for toxic or potential toxic materials?
