To the Editor:
What’s missing in The Villages? Well, not much – OK, maybe a Trader Joe’s, but let’s face it, we have a lot of what most folks would love – except for one thing: trash! Sure, you’re a good citizen and recycle but what about our community? What’s missing are recycling bins in the Town Squares, at postal stations, rec centers and at public locations throughout The Villages. What’s collected at these locations goes into land fills! Yuck!
We come from communities where recycling bins are part of the environmental landscape, but not here. The Villages expects residents to recycle but what about management? The Villages prides itself on our beautiful surroundings – and you know what? Nothing is more beautiful than recycling bins! It’s long past time to get with the program, but it’s not too late.
