
A 56-year-old Villager who was emotionally upset drove through a residential wall at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Village of St. James.
Theresa Glowacki was airlifted from the scene to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
She was in ICU as of Thursday evening.
The Florida Highway Patrol report indicated she was emotionally upset.
Glowacki’s car was traveling south on Gammon Court when it struck the wall. The car pushed through the wall and wound up on St. Charles Place, according to the FHP report.
Debris from the wall struck a car driven by Martha Jo Johnson, 66, of The Villages. She and a passenger, 64-year-old Brenda S. Stringer of Indianapolis, Ind., did not require medical transport from the scene. The FHP report indicated the car’s airbag deployed.
Traffic was backed up in the area for most of the rest of the afternoon.
