Rickey K. Brown, 64, of Summerfield passed away Friday, May 2, 2014. Rickey was born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Bud and Helen Hare. Rickey moved to Florida in 1984 and married her husband Joe, who was approved by her children. Joe and Rickey enjoyed 16 years of happy marriage. Rickey worked in the food industry in restaurant management and sales. Rickey was the glue of the family. She loved to host family events and cook for everyone. She was a positive influence on many people she met. She fought bravely against cancer during the past two years. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Martin.
She will be missed by her surviving family including her husband Joe Brown; sons, Bo Weihl (Shannon), Billy “B. J.” Brown; daughters, Nikki Rey (John Heald), Tiffany Brown; two grandchildren, Jamie Rey, Joey Rey; future great granddaughter, Saylor Costa; nieces, Billie Jo Schultz, Bobbie Jo Boyens; nephew, Ed Martin and countless friends.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice or The American Cancer Society.
Memorial service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home. They will receive friends afterwards until 3 PM. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, Florida.
