A Lady Lake man was arrested on a charge of petit theft in the second degree after he was captured on video surveillance trying to take a pair of shoes from Kohl’s.
Devin Jovan Caswell, 22, was taken into custody on the afternoon of May 12.
When a Lady Lake police officer arrived at the store, a loss prevention officer at Kohl’s told the officer that video surveillance showed that Caswell had selected a pair of sneakers valued at $44.99, put the shoes on his feet and attempted to leave the store.
He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he posted $250 bond and was assigned a May 28 court date.
