I often think “what would it be”,
if it were not for the men and women, who fought for me.
The things I take for granted and enjoy you see,
are only in America, the home of the brave and the land of the free.

The stories I’ve heard of World Wars One and Two,
about the brave men and women, and what they went through.
I was very young when they were across the sea,
they were fighting for America, to keep our land free.

They were serving our country, here and afar,
during the Korean, Vietnam, and also the Gulf War.
They were serving on land, in the air and at sea,
now they are fighting terrorism, to keep our land free.

Now it is Iraq, Afghanistan,
or some other foreign land,
where our brave men and women
are fighting for the freedom for which we stand.

Many are giving their lives for you and for me,
they are sacrificing their all, so we can remain free.
They work together, regardless of political affiliation,
to make sure that we will always be a free nation.

Pray for our service men and women,
wherever they might be.
For they are  keeping  America,
the home of the brave and the land of the free.
