Several opportunities to participate in local Memorial Day observances

There are several local opportunities to honor fallen American soldiers for Memorial Day.

• Veterans Memorial Park in The Villages. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.

• VFW POST 8083 Belleview. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. VFW Post located at 12666 SE U.S. Hwy. 441, one block north of the Markets of Marion.  A lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers will follow.

•  American Legion Post 219 in Fruitland Park will have a service at 11 a.m. Monday at Shiloh Cemetery. Food will follow at the post.

• American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake will be holding Memorial Services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30 at the Lady Lake Cemetery on County Road 466. May 30 is the traditional Memorial Day.
