The Coldwater Creek sale signs being held up human sign holders recently in the vicinity of the Lake Sumter Landing store have been permitted by a federal bankruptcy court.
The topic came up at Friday’s Community Development District 6 meeting. Supervisor John Calandro said he had been surprised to see the signholders and contacted Community Watch.
“The authority of the bankruptcy court supersedes the authority of the district (in this case,)” said District Manager Janet Tutt.
Coldwater Creek went into bankruptcy and the women’s clothier is closing all of its stores across the country.
CDD 6 supervisors made no secret of the fact they were unhappy about seeing the signholders out in the district.
