Stanley Edward Maxwell, Jr., 68, of The Villages, FL past from this life Monday, June 16, 2014. Born in Portland, ME he was the son of the late Stanley and Rita (Bagley) Maxwell. Stanley was a retired vice-president of freight operations for the former Boston & Maine railroad and Guilford Transportation Industries. He also was Superintendent of Commuter Rail in Boston and served as Director of the New England Task Force on Railroads in all six states. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He came to The Villages from Clifton Park, NY in 2006. At The Villages he was a supervisor for Community Watch for the past 7 years. He enjoyed golf and the daily camaraderie with his coffee buddies at the Dunkin Donuts on Rte 466. He was most proud of his marriage of 45 years to his wife Natalie and enjoyed spending time with his family. Stanley leaves his wife Natalie (Landers) Maxwell, a son, Jared Maxwell (Heather) and grandson, Jacob of Oxford, FL, brothers, Thomas Maxwell, Henry Maxwell (Carol) of Pembroke, NH, Michael Maxwell (Patricia) of Londonderry, NH., half – brothers, Scott Maxwell (Lori), of Lyndonville, VT, Roy Huntoon (Janie) of Monroe, NH and Lady Lake, FL, half-sister, Katherine Maxwell of Jefferson, NH, sister-in-law, Judith Williams (Ken) of Conway, NH, and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd The Villages on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will follow with military honors in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Donations in Stan’s memory can be made to Hospice for The Villagers, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
