Violet Ray, director of Aloha ‘O Ka Hula Dance Troupe, will be traveling to the island of Kaua’i in July for the 4th World Hula Conference – Ka ‘Aha Hula ‘O Halauaola. The Conference
will be held July 10 to 18.
It will be her second time attending this Hula Conference.
Held once every four years, this World Hula Conference has been held only three times in the past: on Hawai’i Island in 2001, Maui in 2005 (which Violet attended), and O’ahu in 2009. This will be the first time that this event will be held on the island of Kaua’i, and will not return to Kaua’i until the year 2030. The next Ka ‘Aha Hula ‘O Halauaola will be held in 2018 on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Attendees in the past came from all parts of the world to participate – 21 states from the U.S. Continent, all four Hawaiian Islands, 11 countries including Japan, Mexico, Canada, French Polynesia, Poland, Switzerland and others.
