The music of Fred Waring’s singing Pennsylvanians is coming to The Villages.
The music made popular by Waring, known as the man who taught America to sing, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Hope Lutheran Church.
Performers will include singers from Walt Disney World, Miss America 1963 and Broadway star Kim Crosby Westenberg. The singers are coming from all over the United States and span 30 years of the group.
Waring died 30 years ago, but his music lives on in records, film and many Americans’ heart.
A documentary of Waring’s life will be shown at 7:30 p.m., followed by a sampling of some of the Pennsylvanians’ hits. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.
Hope Lutheran is located at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and County Road 466. The church is golf-cart accessible.
