Central Florida Health Alliance has announced new Vice President of Support Services – Alex Chang. He had served as the Chief Operating Officer of HCA Fawcett Memorial Hospital/Englewood Community Hospital in Port Charlotte since 2008.

The Central Florida Health Alliance includes Leesburg Regional Medical Center and The Villages Regional Hospital.

“I look forward to joining the Central Florida Health Alliance family and partnering with all the individuals that provide direct patient care, as well as those who manage the continuum of care for our patients and their families,” Chang said. “I am particularly proud to have been selected to provide leadership for a state-of-the-art hospital system like CFHA that is essential to the quality of life for all residents of Lake, Sumter and Marion counties.”

During his eight years with HCA, Chang had oversight in many projects including the initiation of a Teleneurology program, transfer center and several waste management programs. In his previous position, he oversaw the construction projects for additional open heart and ortho/spine rooms.

Chang’s new role at CFHA will include overseeing the following departments: Materials Management/Supply Chain, Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition, Facilities/Plant Operations, Bio Med, Construction and Security.

 “Alex is an excellent addition to our leadership team,” said Saad Ehtisham, FACHE, SVP and Chief Operating Officer at CFHA. “His knowledge and perspective on health care have quickly become valuable assets to Central Florida Health Alliance as we continue to grow our services to meet our community’s needs.”

Chang is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives with all of his healthcare experience in the state of Florida. He holds a Master of Health Sciences Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts, Biology from The University of Chicago.
