District legal counsel Valerie Fuchs is raising her rates.
She has served as counsel to Community Development Districts in The Villages since 2007. She hasn’t raised her rates since 2008. She was recently hired as district counsel for The Villages’ newest district, CDD 11.
She is raising her hourly rate for attending district board meetings from $175 per hour to $200 per hour.
She is also raising her hourly rate for all other district-related work from $200 per hour to $225 per hour.
Fuchs said she researched other rates lawyers charge in the area for government service. She said she believes she is charging less than most others in the area in the same line of work.
Her new rate structure was approved Friday by Community Development Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4. Many supervisors praised her work.
