Community Development District 4 Chairman Don Deakin is the lone applicant for the Amenity Authority Committee seat from which Rich Lambrecht recently resigned.

The deadline for applications was Wednesday.

In his resignation letter, Lambrecht made it clear that he hoped Deakin would succeed him on the AAC. Lambrecht suffered a stroke earlier this year, prompting his resignation.

“Those are going to be some tough shoes to fill,” Deakin said.

However, he and Lambrecht have worked hand-in-hand for many years, dating back to the Resident Advisory Committee which predates the AAC.

In a separate resignation letter, Lambrecht had written that he hoped to see Cliff Wiener succeed him in Seat 1 on CDD 4.

Wiener will have some competition. Other applicants for the vacant CDD 4 supervisor’s seat are Mike Galco and Jim Brockman.

The candidates for both AAC and CDD 4 could be interviewed and potentially appointed on Aug. 8. The new CDD 4 member could be chosen and seated to participate in the Aug. 8 meeting.

The Village Center Community Development District has tentatively scheduled a special meeting on Sept. 8 to swear in the new AAC member. That would allow the new member to be seated and take an active role in the Sept. 10 AAC meeting.
