Dragon Boating. “An interest of mine is being active and outdoors. I’m from upstate NY and love the water. Grand Master Dragon Boat is an organization that is a team paddling club. We practice 2-3 times a week on Lake Sumter in the town square of Lake Sumter Landing.
There are race teams and exercise teams. I chose the exercise team, but if you’re feeling competitive, then there are several race teams to choose from as well. Some of the members have even participated in the National Races!

Horseback Riding. “There are actually many places and opportunities to go watch or participate in horseback riding events in this area.The first that comes to mind is The Florida Horse Park in Ocala. It is only 15 minutes from The Villages up Hwy 475. It hosts all types of horse events and shows each weekend.
They also offer various types of volunteer opportunities if someone is interested in getting hands on exposure working the show scene. For the more adventurous person there is guided trail riding.
