
A Village of Sabal Chase man was arrested Monday night on a charge of driving under the influence at Lake Sumter Landing.
Fred Duane Bolser, 65, was driving a golf cart when he did not stop at a stop sign at 10:38 p.m. at Canal Street and Old Camp Road, according to the arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest report indicated that Bolser’s failure to stop nearly caused an accident with a car.
Bolser told the deputy that he had consumed liquor at home before heading to Market Square and City Fire at Lake Sumter Landing.
He failed field sobriety tests, according to the arrest report.
He was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.
He was jailed on $1,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
