
Linda (Gillaspy) Kocher , of The Villages, Florida, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor., died suddenly Sunday morning August 31, 2014, at her home. She formerly lived in Hockessin, Delaware.
Born July 29, 1942 in Danville, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Vera (Poust) Gillaspy. She was a graduate of Delaware Community College, was employed at the former Delaware Trust Bank and for many years worked at PUFF’s (Pick Up Fine Food) in Greenville, DE. Recently, she spent numerous hours sewing doll clothes for The Villages Giving Dolls Club, who will miss her generous and talented spirit. She was an extraordinary cook, a voracious reader and was extremely witty. She and Jay moved to Day Lily Run in 2009 and immediately began participating in the neighborhood activities. Linda especially enjoyed the Ladies’ Luncheons. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jay and children- Brian Kocher (Darlyn); Barbara Kelleher and Kris Mueller (Keith) and seven grandchildren – Keith and Alison Kocher, Joseph and Kevin Kelleher, Tyler Hoppman, Kam and Kolton Mueller. Also surviving are her sister, Nancy Schulte (Joe) and her brother James Gillaspy (Judy). A private viewing was held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in The Villages, FL.
