Just in time for the return of the snowbirds, Publix will be opening its sixth store in The Villages.
The newest store will be located in Grand Traverse Plaza off State Road 44 near Brownwood.
The 45,600-square-foot store will open on Oct. 2.
The Publix will include a pharmacy and a liquor store.
For many, this store will provide some relief for some of the heavy activity at the Publix at Colony Plaza shopping center. That store, where parking can be difficult, is often referred to as the busiest Publix in The Villages.
Other Villages Publix are located at La Plaza Grande West, Spanish Plaines shopping center, Southern Trace shopping plaza and Mulberry Grove Plaza shopping Center.
