A 59-year-old Crystal River man was killed when his car left the roadway at 12:36 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Hwy. 19 south of Mayo Drive in Citrus County.
John Wesley Mitchell Jr. was driving in a 2004 Kia Sedona when he suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his vehicle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. His car left the roadway and struck a mailbox and then hit a parked motorcycle. The motorcycle then hit a parked boat trailer.
Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
