A 71-year-old man killed himself Monday at his Village of Amelia home.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were summoned to a home on Dipper Loop after a 911 call from the man’s wife at 12:11 p.m. Monday.
The man apparently shot himself in the shower of the master bathroom of the home, according to the sheriff’s office. Shortly before that, the man had been on the lanai talking to his wife, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Villages Public Safety Department and Rural/Metro EMS also responded to the scene.
