MedicAlert launches ‘myLife-Touch’ service for residents of The Villages

My Life-Touch

Starting in January, Villages residents will be able to take advantage of a innovative new program offered by MedicAlert that will enable the EMTs and first-responders of the Villages Public Safety Department to quickly and securely access emergency medical information.

The MedicAlert Foundation and Xelios Biometrics are introducing the “myLife-Touch” program in an effort to improve emergency response outcomes and reduce medical errors.  The Villages will be the very first place in America where this service is available.

During an emergency, you may not be able to fully communicate your health condition to first responders. The myLife-Touch program allows you to store a digital copy of your emergency medical record – including existing medical conditions, medications/dosages, allergies, as well as emergency contact info – so that Villages EMS can securely retrieve it with the simple swipe of your finger, allowing first responders to provide more informed treatment and care while on-scene or in transit to the hospital.

The my Life-Touch program is powered through the MedicAlert Foundation, and offers numerous advantages over paper medical records such as “file of life” or “vial of life”.

All are welcome to attend two informational seminars at 1561 Bella Cruz Drive, on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 next to The Villages Regional Hospital.

  • Thursday, December 11th , between 2 and 5 p.m.
  • Friday, December 12th, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Gift-bags and refreshments will be provided for all attendees.

This is a sponsored story. For questions or additional information, please contact Tamara Flores at (646)-561-9860 or visit www.mylifetouch.org.
