Islanders 5 Bruins 6
Johnny “Love” Leone knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the 6th for the victory. Terry
Dolasinski led the way with a 3 for 3 day including 2 rbi’s. Ed DeMaio, Leon Domsic, Charlie
Wilson and Phil Sciacca each chipped in with 2 hits apiece. The Isles were led by Bruce
Kallionen’s 3 for 3 day. Steve Wilson and John Vanarnhem helped out with 2 hits.
The win for the Bruins puts them at 4-1, tied for 1st. The Islanders lost drops them to 2-3.
Relics 15 Hurricanes 10
The Relics pounded out 23 hits on the way to their 4th win of the season. They were led by
rookie Jim Faggiana’s 4 hit 4 rbi day. Jim “Sluggo” Welch, Glen Lansky, Tom O’Neil and sub
Pat Perkins all had a 3 hit day. The Canes were led by Dennis Graves, who 3 hits and 3 rbi’s.
Jim Kitzler and Al Barrett also added 3 hits. The win by the Relics moves them to 4-1, while
the Canes drop to 2-4.
Solar Bears 15 Flyers 14
Hank Culley hit 2 OTF Home Runs today to lead the Bears to victory in a close game. He got
some help from Jon Birkhofer and Vito Buccino, both with 4 for 4 days. The Flyers, who led most of
game, got 3 hits from Donny Meyer and 2 hits from Bill Moore, Bill Warble and James “Wild Thing”
Quirk. The Bears move to 4-2, while the Flyers are still winless.
Wings 20 Avalanche 16
Player of the Day, Ralph Hollis led the Wings to victory with a perfect 5 for 5 day including 4 rbi’s
and a 7th inning Home Run. The win moves the Wings back to 3-3. Rookie Doug Goslee also helped
the cause with 4 hits and 3 rbi’s. Five other players added 3 hits for a total of 34 on the day. The
Avalance were led by Don Barnes, who had 3 hits 4 rbi’s. Barnes also hit his 4th OTF Home Run of the season.
Gary Grodzicki and Greg Foster helped out with 3 hits and sub Jim Welch hit an OTF Home Run.
The loss drops the Avalanche to 1-4.
