Bruins win wild one to create a 3 way tie for first

The Bruins scored 9 runs in the top of the seventh to outlast the Flyers.  Woody DeMaio led the way with a perfect 5 hit day, raising his batting average to .731.  Rookie Dave Schultz also chipped in with 4 hits but it was, Player of the Day, Leon Domsic with the big 3 run OTF Home Run in the 7th to secure the win.  Domsic had 4 hits and 6 rbi’s.  The Flyers were led by James “wild thing” Quirk’s perfect 5 hit day including 6 rbi’s.  Chuck Dorn added 3 hits and 5 rbi’s including a grand slam home run and subs Hank Culley and Brian Staub combined for 7 hits including 3 OTF Home Runs.  The Bruins run their record to 7-2, while the Flyers drop to 1-7.

The Relics scored 9 runs in the last 2 innings to pull away from the Leafs.  Relic’s sub Ed Connell had 3 hits, while 5 different Relics had 2 hits each.  Manager Dale Travis had 3 rbi’s.  The Leafs got 2 hits from 5 different players.  The Relics move to 7-2, while the Leafs drop to 7-2.

The Bears took advantage of 4 errors by the Wings for the win.  The Bears, who only had 13 hits, were led by Brian Staub, Dave Hafer, Vito Buccino and Jim Sullivan, all with 2 hits.  The Wings got 3 hits from rookie Doug Goslee. The Bears win moves them to 5-5, while the Wings drop to 4-5.

The Canes scored 13 runs in the 1st 3 innings to hold on for the win.  Dennis Graves led the Canes with a perfect 3 hit day including 4 rbi’s.  Veteran Dick Kanyan added 3 hits and 3 runs scored.  The Av’s were led by Don Barnes 3 hit day including his 5th OTF Home Run of the season.  Before the game, Canes player, Rod Severson was awarded a new Miken bat for being named MVP in last weekends SSUSA Tournament of Champions tournament.  Good going Hot Rod.
