Fross & Fross suffers first loss and falls into a three-way tie for first place after sixth week of CFL action

3AMIGOS 21  IHOP 5 in 6 INNINGS

3Amigos scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to close out IHOP and pull into a tie for first place. They were led by Mark Hildebrand’s 4 hits and 3 hits + 2 RBI’s from both Bill Pauldine and Terry Yanny. John Reedy added a triple and a 3 run homer. John Buchanan and Duane Broschat both had 2 hits in a losing effort for IHOP.

MULBERRY 17  SRG 8

Mulberry claimed a piece of first place behind some hot hitting from Ed DeMaio who had 3 hits/4 RBI’s including a 2  run homer. Ed Haith and Ralph Furbush also had 3 hits + 2 RBI’s while Tom Aldridge smacked a 2 run homer. SRG got 3 hits each from Scott Marshall and Dave Goldberg(2 RBI’s).

SYNERGY 15  FROSS&FROSS 10

Pitcher Harold Holiman led Synergy’s win with 4 hits and 5 RBI’s. Tony Prettitore and Mark Rich both added 3 hits. Fross got a 3 run homer from dan MacPherson and 2 hits each from Carl McWilliams, manager Al Deibler and pitcher Jim Joseph.

HUMANA 20  ARDEN 19 in 8 INNINGS

Humana gave up 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning but scored a tying run in the bottom of the inning and the winning run on a walk off single by Vin Stebbins. Vin had 5 hits and 3 RBI’s while Tom McGann also had 5 hits + 4 RBI’s. Jim Kennedy, Dave Oatley and Jim Glover all added 4 hits in the victory. Arden continues to search for their initial win of the season and were led by Tom Bolte’s 4 hits + 4 RBI’s. Tim Carroll and Dave Blandford both had 3 hits while Gary Lewis added a solo homerun.

HARLAN 20  PERKINS 17

Harlan scored 4 in the 7th inning for the victory. Ev Rhyner led the win with 4 hits while Ken Atkinson, manager Sante Tulli and pitcher Fred Hughes(4 RBI’s) all added 3 hits. Craig Dahlquist added 3 RBI’s. Perkins was led by George Loew(3 RBI’s) and Gene Guerriero(4 RBI’s) while Jim Walter added 3 hits.

PAUL DAVIS 17  BABIARZ 10

Paul Davis got a 3 run homer from Bill Dunkley and back to back solo homers from Jeff Bekasi and Denis Hodge to led this win. They had 3 hits each from Jeff Bekasi, manager Henry Ship, Denis Hodge and Sam Patrick. John Charles had a solo shot for Babiarz while Ed Moriarity, manager Bob Winder, Jerry Jensen, pitcher Greg Gilbert and Felix Rodriquez all added 2 hits.
