Maple Leafs edge Relics to gain control of 1st place

The Leafs scored 9 runs in the last 3 innings to get past the Relics.  The Leafs were led by Dan Vezina, 3 hits and 3 runs scored.  Bruce Breiner added 3 hits also.  Beaver Burch led the Relics with 3 hits, while Felix Rodriguez had 3 rbi’s.  The Leafs move to 10-2 while the Relics drop to 9-4.

The Bears jumped out to a 10-3 lead and then barely held on for the victory.  The Bears were led by manager Tim Wilcox 3 hits and 3 rbi’s.  He got some help from rookie Bill Dunne who hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 6th.  The Wings were led by Kevin Dorgan’s 3 hit, 2 rbi day.  Randy Oates added 3 hits also.  The win puts the Bears at 9-5, while the Wings drop to 6-7.

The Bruins took advantage of 3 errors to edge the Flyers.  The Bruins got their big hit from Dave Patterson,

a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 5th.  Greg Slate added 2 doubles and 3 rbi’s.  The Flyers were led by sub Jon Birkhofer, who had 2 hits including a 2 run homer.  The Bruin’s win puts them in 2nd place at 10-4, while the Flyers drop to 2-11.

The Av’s scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th and Gary Halse knocking in the winning run to win this wild one. Interim manager and Player of the Day Kevin Halbmaier led the Avs with a perfect 4 hit day including 3 rbi’s and 4 runs scored.  He also had a double and a triple.  Sub Randy Oates added 4 hits, while Mark Hildebrand and Gary Halse had 3 hits apiece.  The Canes were led by Dick Kanyan’s perfect 5 hit day.  Dennis Graves helped out with 3 hits and 4 rbi’s and Dave Sellars, 3 hits and 2 rbi’s.  The Av’s move to 4-9, while the Canes drop to 4-9.
