Maple Leafs  21   Bruins  9

The Leafs pounded out 30 hits and scored 9 runs in the 7th inning and cruised to an easy win, clinching  1st place.  Manager Pat Perkins led the way with a perfect 4 hit day and 2 rbi’s. Bruce Breiner also had 4 hits, while Dan Vezina, Steve Rice, Mike Aquiviva, Bob Baker and sub Bill Moore all had 3 hits.  Dave Patterson led the Bruins with 3 hits.  Kudos to the job Pat Perkins did this year on putting together a great team. The Leafs move to 13-2, while the Bruins drop to 11-5.

Solar Bears  7   Relics  19

The Relics easy victory puts them in 2nd place for the year.  They were led by Glenn Lansky and Jim Welch, both having perfect 4 hit days.  Manager Dale Travis, Steve Long, and Felix Rodriguez all added 3 hits. Hank Culley led the Bears offense with 4 hits including 2 OTF Home Runs and 6 out of the 7 rbi’s.  Hank has 13 homers on the year.  The Relics end the year with a 12-4 record, while the Bears drop to 10-6.

Wings  12   Flyers  10

The Wings victory end a 4 game losing streak.  The Wings led by manager Mike Arseneau and Ralph Hollis, both with perfect 4 hit days.  Greg Hanson, Kevin Dorgan and Bob Winder added 3 hits apiece.  The  Flyers got 3 hits from manager John Rebardo and Bill Moore, while Bill Warble added 3 rbi’s. The Wings move to 7-9 while the Flyers drop to 2-14 clinching the #1 pick in the upcoming draft. The Flyers will also face the Islanders in the play-in game to start the playoffs.

Islanders  15   Hurricanes  16

Dave Norval hit his 8th OTF Homer of the season to lead the Canes to a big win.  Dave had 3 hits and 4 rbi’s on the day.  Dennis Graves, who had a very nice season this year, had 3 hits and 3 rbi’s with subs Don Barnes and Larry Wizauer also having 3 hits.  Glen Forson led the Islanders with a perfect 4 hit day, while Bruce Kallionen, Jim Carter and Dan Sapochetti all had 3 hits.  The Canes move to 6-10, while the Isles drop to 4-10.
