Lady Lake police were able to track down a Hummer involved in a hit-and-run accident at Home Depot, thanks to information from a witness to the crash.
The accident occurred at 8 p.m. Monday when the Hummer backed out of parking space and forced a 2008 four-door Dodge into a pole, according to an accident report from the police department.
The eyewitness gave police a description of the Hummer and a license plate number which led them to 56-year-old Ricky J. Faulkner of Weirsdale. The witness told police that the Hummer driver had looked and seen the damage, but continued to drive away.
Faulkner was issued a criminal citation on Tuesday charging him with leaving the scene of an accident. He is due to appear June 10 in Lake County Court.
