Village of Collier woman jailed on DUI charge after leaving City Fire

A 73-year-old Village of Collier woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence this weekend after leaving City Fire.

A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle  driven by Barbara Davis Hubbert at 12:43 a.m. Saturday on Canal Street near Bonita Boulevard, according to an arrest report. She told the deputy she had consumed two mixed drinks at City Fire, the arrest report indicated.

She failed field sobriety exercises.

She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and later revised her account of the evening and told the deputy she had consumed seven drinks consisting of vodka throughout the day.

Bond was set at $1,000.

Hubbert, who resides on Alwyne Avenue in The Villages, had no previous arrest record, the arrest report indicated.
