Michael J. Penn, Sr.

Michael J. Penn, Sr., 72, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Thursday, June 4, 2015. Born in Elizabeth, NJ he was the son of the late George and Catherine (Martin) Penn.
Michael was the owner and operator of Macray Co. of Flanders, NJ, a manufacturer of polyethylene tags and products for over 30 years. He had also been employed with GAF Corp of Linden, NJ. Michael was a volunteer personified. He was an assistant fire chief in Kenilworth, NJ, volunteer fireman and EMT for the township of Roxbury and Blairstown, NJ, and a volunteer for the Dover, NJ paramedics/EMTs. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Blairstown and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 12430 of Blairstown. Michael became a full time resident of The Villages in 2008. He was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and served as Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, cribbage, bocce but especially riding his trike motorcycle. He was a member of the The Villages Cribbage Club, Fishing Club, Sunset Point Bocce League, and the Nomad’s Motor Cycle Club. Besides his parents Michael was predeceased by his brothers, George and Richard Penn. Michael leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Carol J. (Metke) Penn, sons, Michael Penn (Judith) of Columbia, NJ, Robert Penn (Alisa) of Easton, PA and daughter, Janet Bingham (Brian) of Hawaii; and grandchildren Katie Penn and Milo Bingham. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held in St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 8:30 AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family
