Community Development District 4 will wait on the results of the Kimley-Horn & Associates Inc. study before moving ahead with hiring an independent engineer to study multi-modal path safety issues.

Kimley-Horn is expected to submit later this month its study on side striping and markings on islands on the multi-modal paths. The report will be discussed at a July 6 meeting of the Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group, which includes representation from CDDs across The Villages and the Amenity Authority Committee.
But CDD 4 Supervisor Paul Kelly said it is “disappointing” that the Kimley-Horn report will not include an analysis of centerline striping, something the engineer who has worked for years with The Villages has adamantly opposed.
“I would have hoped the engineer would have had an open mind,” Kelly said.
He had put together information for a “scope of services” for CDD 4 to hire an independent engineer.
District Manager Janet Tutt suggested waiting for the Kimley-Horn report and provide that study to the selected engineer. She also offered the names of three engineers already vetted by Sumter County that CDD 4 might want to choose for the work.
