
A 36-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested after allegedly striking a woman who had come to his home to buy drugs.
Lady Lake police were called at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday to a home in the 200 block of Gibson Street after a woman reported that a man had attacked her and stolen a $100 bill from her after she went to the home to buy drugs.
She was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital.
The resident of the home, Simon Lavor Hammond, gave officers permission to search his home. Officers found ammunition for a handgun and a shotgun, according to the arrest report.
Hammond, a convicted felon, was arrested on multiple charges of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was also charged with robbery after a $100 bill was found in his wallet.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $52,000.
He is due for arraignment July 6 in Lake County Court.
