
Mary Margaret Gisonda, 85, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Saturday, June 20, 2015. Born in Staten Island, NY she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ruth (Long) Anderson. Mary was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and home maker. She was most proud of her marriage of 62 years to her husband Bernard and her precious family. While in Staten Island she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Richmond Memorial Hospital, volunteering there for many years. She came to The Villages from Staten Island in 1997. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed playing mahjong, making ceramics and gardening. She loved to make people smile and did that as a clown. She was “Bumper the Clown” and was a member of The Villages Clown Alley 179.
Mary leaves her husband of 62 years, Bernard A. Gisonda, daughters, Maryann Faller and husband Albert of Queensbury, NY, Barbara Heffernan and husband Jack of Toms River, NJ, sons, Tom Gisonda and wife Debbie of Staten Island, Michael Gisonda and wife Kelly of Staten Island, NY; (9) grandchildren and (5) great grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages from 10 – 12 Noon with a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Services and burial will be held at a later date in New York. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, at www.stjude.org
