A 53-year-old Fruitland Park man was arrested Tuesday morning in the parking lot of Cody’s Original Roadhouse in Brownwood.
Richard Damian Halligan of Fruitland Park was pulled over at about 11:40 a.m. while he was driving on State Road 44. When he was pulled over in the Cody’s parking lot, he jumped out of his car and said to a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy, “You are just taking me to jail anyways, because I have no license,” according to the arrest report.
A check revealed that Halligan’s license had been suspended and that he was on probation in Lake County. His probation does not end until July 30, 2017.
Halligan was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
