Edna T. Sargent, age 82, of The Villages, FL, passed away on July 8, 2015 at The Villages Regional Hospital, FL. She was the wife of William T. Sargent. Born in Hillsdale, NJ she was a daughter of the late William Roy and Edna May Tietgen. She grew up in Norwich, CT and graduated from Norwich Free Academy. Prior to her retirement she worked as a dental assistant and a real estate agent. She was an avid reader and loved boating as well as traveling by car across country. She and Bill also enjoyed cruising to many locations. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Bill and children: Lilly Cranor of Keller, TX; Donna Bradley of Statesboro, GA; Skeet Strickland of Norwich, CT and Cindy Tidwell of Lake Wyley, SC . Also step-daughter: Sondra Genandt of Surprise, AZ and step-son: Scott Sargent of Olympia, WA. She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Preston of Bradenton, FL , her brother Bill Tietgen of Bradenton, FL and a grandson. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159 at 4 p.m. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3 – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
