Michael J. Miklus

Michael J. Miklus, 86, passed from this life on the afternoon of Saturday, June 27th, at his home in The Villages, Florida.
He was born 1928, in Campbell, Ohio, to Catherine (Solly), and Michael Miklus.  Michael was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp. and served in the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he returned to his employment at J&L Steel/Cold Metal Products where he worked for over 40 years retiring as the Metallurgical Lab Supervisor. Michael enjoyed the beach and spending his time there with his grandsons collecting seashells. He was an avid coin collector, and often took the time to teach others about the hobby. He enjoyed flowers and reveled in his wife’s green thumb and her beautiful roses. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Michael is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose, who he married on Feb. 21, 1956; daughter, Judith Sarah Jones; and son, Michael Miklus and his wife Cynthia (Buckner) Miklus; two grandsons, Travis Siembieda, wife Beth Ann (Boyle), and Nigel Edward Jones and wife, Arielle (Helgerson) Jones; and sister, Marie (Carr), and brother Robert, both of Campbell. He was preceded in death by sisters, Rita (Scott), Delores Miklus, and Jane (Bohazi), and son-in-law, Steven Michael Jones. Services will be held in The Villages at Saint Timothy Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2015, followed by a military funeral at The Florida National Cemetery at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Salvation Army. The family would like to thank everyone for their concern and prayers during this difficult time.
