A 33-year-old Oxford man arrested in 2014 in connection with the theft of Villagers’ golf carts, is now in Lake County Jail to answer to another set of criminal charges.

Kevin Bansley was transferred Friday from the Marion County Jail to the Lake County Jail.

Bansley had been arrested in February 2014 after he and another man stole golf carts from the parking lot of the Chatham Recreation Center and Publix at Mulberry Grove.

He was booked at the Marion County Jail on Feb. 20, 2014 and bonded out on April 18, 2014.

While out on bond, Bansley was arrested June 4, 2104 after he stole a 2012 Jeep in Summerfield. He led law enforcement on a chase and was eventually apprehended by a Lake County sheriff’s K-9.

Bansley will answer to the charges of fleeing to elude, grand theft, resisting arrest, driving while license suspended and violation of probation on Aug. 10 in Lake County Court.

He had been sentenced to jail time in Marion County in connection with the golf cart thefts.
