A 22-year-old woman whose body was pulled Friday from Lake Weir, was the mother of a young child.
Jessica Demko, 22, of Ocklawaha was reported missing shortly before 5 a.m. Several people were aboard the boat when she fell into the water.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office’s Underwater Recovery Team and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recovered Demko’s body after she went overboard from a boat on Lake Weir early Friday morning.
Patrick Cotton, 22, of Summerfield has been arrested in the alleged theft of the boat. He is facing a charge of grand theft and has been booked at the Marion County Jail.
