Saturday, Oct. 10 was designated as a National Day of Service by the Daughters of the American Revolution.  All DAR chapters in the country, including John Bartram Chapter of The Villages, planned community action events.

According to Regent Sheri Hudson of The Village of Sanibel, approximately 25 John Bartram Chapter members participated by baking cookies and taking them to local firemen and EMTs at every fire station in The Villages and by presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to its personnel. Buttonwood resident Jeanne Farren organized the presentations.
