You should be positive about candidates as well as negative

To the Editor:

It seems nearly all of the political discussion on this forum is insulting or negative. Apparently, most folks are more capable of telling us why NOT TO VOTE for a candidate rather than why TO VOTE for one. Please limit comments to positive opinions about candidates. If possible, even a positive comment about someone you do not support! My guess is, the regular contributors who endlessly spew venom on these pages are neither capable of presenting a positive opinion nor capable of resisting a negative or insulting reply. Thoughtful replies, positively presenting opposing views, are of course welcome. Do not assume an author supports the subject candidate of their comment. We may learn something. I’ll go first..
DONALD TRUMP: I like the spotlight he shines on campaign financing. By self-financing his campaign, no one will buy access to the Oval Office. Campaign finance laws should provide all candidates, not just billionaires, a path to the presidency without the liability of payback.
