VHA’s second recycling event another overwhelming success

Villagers lined up in automobiles and golf carts Saturday to drop off old electronics at the Villages Homeowners Association community recycling event.

A similar event last year put on by the VHA was so wildly popular that the organization decided to do it again.

The event was held in the parking lot at Winn-Dixie at Lake Sumter Landing.

“The response has been overwhelming. Again,” said Matt Friedland of the VHA.

Items dropped off at the event include computers, televisions, printers and other electronics. The company that took the items away ensures they are disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Computer hard drives are destroyed.
