Village of Summerhill resident Randy DiSanto was shocked to see a woman in a golf cart attempting to navigate a busy intersection this past week on County Road 466.

“I’m not sure how this happened,” DiSanto said.
He had been traveling in his golf cart on the multi-modal path adjacent to Belvedere Boulevard at the intersection of Parr Drive when he spotted the misguided motorist.
“I assume she came across CR 466 on the WRONG side of the road, only GOD knows the answer. She also turned onto Parr Drive on the opposite side of the road,” DiSanto said.
The unique mix of golf cars and automobiles here in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown can cause confusion about which way to go.
But it can work the other way, too.

Villager Ed Sullivan’s dash captured footage of the misguided motorist behind the wheel of a car who traveled in the golf cart lane on Odell Circle between Canal Street and Morse Boulevard. Eventually, the driver appears to figure it out.
This past January, a golf cart turned right out of the Morse Boulevard Gate and headed west on County Road 466. You can read more about that HERE

On New Year’s Day, serious consequences were escaped when a vehicle wound up on the golf cart path.

Two women from West Babylon, N.Y. were transported by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center last after the accident on West Torch Lake Drive. You can read more about that accident HERE.
