A woman reportedly ran out of Wal-Mart in Summerfield on Monday afternoon in a brand new pair of shoes.
The woman entered the store at about 3 p.m. and put on a pair of white sneakers in the shoe department, according to a report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She went to the electronics department and picked out a Blue Tooth speaker and removed it from its packaging. She also picked up a backpack. She went through the self-checkout lane and paid for some other items, but did not pay for the shoes, speaker or backpack. She was stopped by a loss prevention officer and escorted to an office in the store. There she told the loss prevention officer she was “claustrophobic” and bolted out of the store. She left behind the items for which she had paid, the speaker and the backpack. She was still wearing the sneakers when she fled.
The woman is described as white, in her 30s, dark hair and with a rainbow tattoo on her left calf.
