The driver of a golf cart was transported by ambulance from the scene of an accident shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday on Morse Boulevard.

The man’s golf cart had been northbound on Morse Boulevard near De Silva Street, when his golf cart hit the curb and then struck the golf cart/bicycle lane sign, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The man suffered minor injuries and was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital.

His golf cart was not equipped with seatbelts.

Community Watch was on the scene of the accident and set up cones to direct motorists away from the scene.
