A Villager’s 53-year-old “problem child” who fled a hospital emergency room with an IV in her arm, will escape prosecution on a charge of driving under the influence.
Lyn Ellen Kaminski, who at the time of her arrest provided law enforcement with an address on Royal Palm Avenue in the Village of Silver Lake, had been at the wheel of a car that struck a SECO power pole at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 4 on Griffin Avenue, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The crash knocked out power for the evening for residents of the area. She was taken by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center where she reportedly fled the ER with an IV in her arm. A warrant was later issued for her arrest.
But her extreme attempt to avoid prosecution appears to have paid off. It has been announced in Lake County Court that the case will not be prosecuted and it has been disposed. Kaminski was represented by attorney Jaimie Washo.
After Kaminski went missing at the hospital, police had gone to the home on Royal Palm Avenue to interview Kaminski’s mother. She described her daughter as her “problem child.” She showed police a text she had received from Kaminski in which she admitted she had been drinking prior to the accident.
Kaminski has been arrested a number of times in Lake County for driving without a license. She was arrested in 2013 for violating her probation on a charge of driving while license suspended. She was arrested in 2010 on a charge of battery.
